Church History
Bishop Wellington Boone
The Father’s House was founded in 1995 by Bishop Wellington Boone in Atlanta, Georgia. The church has always been dedicated to authentic worship, community outreach, and the establishment of God’s kingdom on earth. Over the years, The Father’s House has grown into a vibrant community of believers who are passionate about their faith and committed to serving others.
In March 2015, Bishop Wellington Boone passed the mantle of leadership to Bishop Garland R. Hunt, who was installed as the Senior Pastor. Under Bishop Hunt’s dynamic leadership, the church has continued to thrive, expanding its ministries and outreach programs to better serve the community.
Bishop Boone is now Chief Prelate of the Fellowship of International Churches, of which The Father’s House is a member church.

About Our Church
Bishop Garland R. Hunt
Bishop Hunt’s connection to Wellington Boone is profound. He has been a part of the Fellowship of International Churches and Wellington Boone Ministries for many years, contributing significantly to their mission of reconciliation and leadership development. His installation as Senior Pastor by Bishop Boone marked a new chapter for The Father’s House, continuing the legacy of strong, faith-based leadership.
His executive leadership spans some 28 years, with the Fellowship of International Churches, Wellington Boone Ministries, and New Generation Campus Ministries. He has served in many state and national leadership roles. In 2004, he was appointed to the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles by Governor Sonny Perdue and served as chairman of the Parole Board in 2006. In 2010, Hunt was commissioner of the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.
In addition to his pastoral duties, Bishop Hunt is the author of “Crisis in America: A Christian Response,” a book that addresses the challenges facing America today and offers a Christian perspective on how to respond to these crises. And most recently, he was appointed as the President of the Douglass Leadership Institute, succeeding the late Bishop Dean Nelson. Each week, Bishop Hunt demonstrates his pastor’s heart through passionate preaching and vibrant leadership.
